The Obama campaign is up with their second ad of the day targeting John McCain's plan to tax individual health benefits. While the first ad focused on Sarah Palin's inability to explain McCain's health tax plan, this ad goes straight at the core issue: that John McCain is proposing -- for the first time ever - to tax health benefits:

My opponent actually wrote in the current issue of a health care magazine - the current issue - quote - "Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation."

So let me get this straight - he wants to run health care like they've been running Wall Street. Well, Senator, I know some folks on Main Street who aren't going to think that's a good idea."

Hillary: Buy My Healthcare, or Else!

I'd call that a mandate!

After criticizing rival Barack Obama for pushing a health plan that would not require universal coverage, Hillary Clinton says that she "might be willing to garnish the wages of workers who refuse to buy health insurance" to achieve coverage for all Americans.

Clinton has not always specified the enforcement measures she would embrace, but when pressed on ABC's This Week, she said: "I think there are a number of mechanisms" that are possible, including "going after people's wages, automatic enrollment."

Clinton said such measures would apply only to workers who can afford health coverage but refuse to buy it. Uhh. . .thanks, but no thanks.
