Draft Gore for 2008

He's eloquent, passionate, relentless, undaunted. The first political figure to oppose the Iraq war, Al Gore is also the lead champion in the fight against global warming, a passionate defender of our Constitution, and an unyielding voice against the BushCo's abuse of power.

Dear Vice President Gore:

Americans from every corner of our nation are calling on you. Please listen to our plea and run for the Democratic nomination for the presidency of the United States in 2008.

Never before has America needed a leader of your stature, vision and experience more than now. The next presidential election will be the most crucial one in our history, and you are the only Democrat who can unite the country and lead us to victory. And this country -- indeed, the entire world -- cannot afford anything less.

Our nation and the planet itself are entering “a period of consequences,” as you so well stated in “An Inconvenient Truth,” but in more ways than one. We are ruled by a government of the powerful and for the powerful -- a government that tramples our Constitution, wages unjust war in our name, sacrifices our economic future, and puts our very planet on the endangered species list.

America and the world need you now more than ever. Be our candidate. Run for president. And we pledge that we'll be there for you every day until the last vote is counted.

Sincerely,

The concerned citizens of America

I remember telling him personally at a speaking engagement this:

Thank you for all you have already done, and I wouldn't wish anyone to suffer like you already did in 2000. If you don't, I will always thank you anyway. If you do, however, I will work everyday to recruit for your cause.

He leaned back and chuckled. What a great dude.

Yes, I agree. I will consider NO candidate that doesn't have an end to war as the number one item on their slate. Gore and Kucinich get it. If Gore runs, he'll win, and we need a real leader.

I don't agree, Spadoman, unfortunately.

If Gore ran, he SHOULD win - but he won't. Too many Republicans, and a fair share of others, don't believe in Global Warming. They still belive he said that he "invented the internet" and most of them think his wife runs his life.

As much as he deserves it - he, like Hillary, cannot win it. The Wrong-Wing have already found his deamons and know exactly how to conjure them up in ways that the mainstream sheep will swallow.

I honestly wish it weren't so - I like the man - but I can't see him winning.

Parson - Thanks for adding your voice. Again!

Torp - Same here. He's gotten better, mainly in packaging.

Fernando - Lucky you! =)

Spado - Gore and Kucinich would both excel as pres. But I put better odds on Gore winning, again!

Sew - He already one in 2000, and his stature has grown since then. I understand exactly your point about the right-wing attack machine, however. . .people have seen alot more positives out of Mr.Gore over the last 6 years, while enduring the result of his stolen victory. I 100% beleive he can win if he can be convinced to run once more. . .
