Republicans block Iraq debate

So much for cooperation from Senate Republicans in stopping Bush's escalation in Iraq. . . a nearly united Republican front (Including DINO Lieberman) voted to stop the Senate from debating a resolution opposing President Bush's plan to send 21,500 additional combat troops into battle.

"It is clear their actions are not driven by getting votes on Republican proposals. They are driven by a desire to provide political cover for President Bush," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. "They can't rubber-stamp the president's policies in Iraq any more, so they've decided to stamp out debate and let the president's escalation plan proceed unchecked."

If your Senator is on the "Nay" list, I implore you to call or write them to express your disgust with their support of this reckless man and his total disregard for the will of the majority of America!

FYI, Senator Reid is reported as voting for the filibuster, but that's just a procedural thing. . . he voted against it, then switched his vote at the end because it gives him the ability to make additional motions that can be useful in the future.

Look who my two Congresscritters are. And of course, they voted NO.
I am so disgusted I don't even know what to do.

Norm Coleman of Minnesota is just worried that Al Franken is going to pull "Paul Wellstone" and unseat him--gotta give his constituents something. (Wellstone unseated an incumbent Republican.)

Senators Durbin and Obama are in the right. I'm content on THIS issue.

They do, however, have some serious e-mail coming about the Financial Fiasco of 07, aka Bush's "Budget".
