A new American Research Group poll shows that 71% of Americans feel that Dick Cheney has abused his powers as vice president; 43 % believe he should be impeached and removed from office.

The same question, posed about George Bush, shows that 64% of Americans feel that he has abused his powers as president, with 34% believing that he should be impeached and removed from office.

Bush's overall disapproval rating is now at 67%, with only 25% of Americans approving of his job performance. In a related story, 25% of Americans state that they "never read the newspaper, never watch news on television or the internet, and seldom talk to others".

Iraqis protest attempted PSA rape & pillage maneuver

Back in May, I wrote about Dick Cheney's attempts to force the Iraqi government into Profit Sharing Agreements. This "deal" would effectively rape the nation of it's primary resource, while diverting nearly all of the profits to the foreign oil companies that would run the show.

About 300 oil industry workers gathered in Iraq’s main oil port of Basra on Monday to protest this draft law that they agreed "would allow foreigners to pillage the country’s wealth.”

To compensate for the military and political failure of the US administration in Iraq, this administration is trying to control the country’s wealth,” said the organizers, adding that "if this is endorsed by the parliament it would abolish sovereignty and hand over the wealth of this generation and the generations to come as a gift to the occupier”!

The protesters, employees of the Oil Pipelines Company, wore black surgical masks over their faces and carried banners and black coffins with the word “freedom” written on the sides. The clause in the draft hydrocarbon law allowing for production-sharing agreements with foreign oil companies is rightly seen by many Iraqis see as a throwback to the earlier era of Iraq colonial exploitation.

“This law, in fact destroys the achievements of the Iraqi masses and especially the Law number 80 of 1961 ( part of a bundle of socialist reforms issued by then-Prime Minister Abdul Karim Qassim, which sharply limited foreign involvement in the oil sector) and the nationalization of 1973,” said organizers.

The Bush administration and it's big oil allies, who sought to ram the draft hydrocarbon law through a government they helped set up and assumed that they controlled, can only be surprised by the awareness of the Iraqi people. As Shakes used to say "Don't fuck with me, boys - this aint my first time at the rodeo". The Iraqi people are used to having conquerors on their backs, and equally experienced in throwing them. . .

Cheney involved in "Hookergate"!

May 12-13, 2007 -- Hookergate involves fired US Attorney. US District Judge for the District of Columbia Gladys Kessler, a Clinton appointee, has re-issued an order prohibiting DC Madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey from releasing any more phone lists of her Pamela Martin & Associates customers. Secrecy of the phone records has been a priority for DC Assistant US Attorney William Cowden. Palfrey released her 10 years of customer phone records to ABC's "20/20" before Kessler's March order prohibiting such a release took effect. As WMR reported, ABC and Disney, under pressure from the Bush White House, killed the story and stated that there were no "newsworthy" names on the Madam's list. WMR has been informed by three well-placed sources that Vice President Dick Cheney, while a part-time resident of McLean, Virginia and while serving as Halliburton's CEO, was a customer of the DC Madam.

Darth's surpise PSA visit

Darth Cheney paid a surprise trip to Baghdad today to deliver a tough message to the Iraqi government – "Get busy on signing the profit-sharing agreements we discussed! As soon as those are signed, you can take a permanent vacation for all that I care!"

The dark lord has been livid since discovering that Iraq’s fledgling parliament was planning to take a two-month summer recess, postponing work on a bill designed to steal Iraq's oil reserves while further enriching foreign oil companies, and leaving nothing but a sore and greasy situation for the nation and it's citizens.

"Look here, al Maliki, I've got Democrats in the woodwork at home, a 9% personal approval rating, and an American public that's ready to hang me from the nearest oil derrick. And you guys just voted to throw us all out of here as well!"

"Give me what I want and we'll go away" snarled Cheney after ordering staff to kick the press out of the room.

The new American ambassador to Baghdad, Ryan Crocker, nervously told reporters that the vice president merely wanted some "alone time" to share some music with his Iraqi friend and convey American displeasure over the planned vacation. Here's a swiped security cam video of that meeting:

Cheney was supposed to be in Abu Dhabi today for a photo op, according to his public schedule. Reporters had pressed Cheney staffers for days about whether he would go to Iraq on the current trip. The staffers never denied it outright, but didn’t tell the reporters accompanying Cheney until after Air Force Two had lifted off from Andrews Air Force Base. No reports as of yet of fare discounts for the unannounced detour, but the International Reporters Against Cheney group is considering action against the vice president. . .
