Obama Aces South Carolina
Obama routed Hillary Hillary in South Carolina tonight, regaining momentum in the run up to Super Tuesday on Feb. 5. 1,600 Democratic National Convention delegates will be delegated on that one single day. In a state where nearly 50% of voters voters are black, Obama carried nearly 80% of the black vote. He captured 25% of the white vote, with the remainder split almost evenly between Clinton and Edwards.
The fight for second place remains too tight to call at the time of this post. A third place finish for Edwards, in the state where he was born, would likely be the death knell for his campaign. It would also be a serious setback for Clinton, although she has nearly written off the state over the last few days.
This leaves the tally thus far as:
- Obama - 2 wins (Iowa and South Carolina)
- Clinton - 1 win (New Hampshire)
- Tie - Nevada (Clinton edged in turnout, Obama in delegates)
Labels: barack obama, election 2008, Hillary Clinton

I hope this shows Billary that race-baiting won't work in her favor.
And with Ted Kennedy backing Obama now, he's looking much stronger going into Super Tuesday.
