In John's absence...

In John's absence, as he said, my wife and I are in charge of John and Jody's life!

We started last night by having their two girls (Samantha and Sabrina) dumped, er I mean brought to us =) They are so cute, but at the same time, a handful!

We are expecting our first grandchild in early October, but in the mean time, we haven't had little kids around for a while.

This is only the 2nd time we have kept their girls for more than one night. The last time was when John and Jody went to Vegas. We love kids, as is obvious by the four children between Wanda and I; but we have been empty nesters for a few years now.

These photos were taken last night shortly after they girls were left in our care.

As most of you know, we moved into a different home recently, and have a pool. The girls just love it! Talk about something for the kids to do! Obviously we take every precaution to keep the girls safe; and the older girl, Samantha can swim in the deep end.

As you can tell, the girls get along great and love playing together! We feel honored that John and Jody trust us to care for their children when they go on trips together. Actually, they RARELY leave their girls overnight and go out of town, or even just to a movie and have a quiet evening. They are great parents and don't mind having the girls around....almost always!!! God bless them!!! I know when I was raising children, I welcomed any and every break I could get away from my kids!!!

I think it's great that John and Jody are able to get away from time to time. Raising children is hard enough, but now they have five cats as well!!! Sabrina just told me they kind of have a fish. I don't know what that means. Samantha said they don't have fish!

The girls are watching a movie we rented for them right now. It's called Matilda. It's a kids show, but I'm kind of getting into it!

Looking forward to John and Jody's return!

Glad to do it. You and your wife should have more times together without the girls. Who likes working seven days a week??? LOL!
