The deed is done. . .

Left in Aboite is now officially running under the NEW Blogger. I had received several invites to upgrade but every time I attempted to, I was told that my blog was too large to switch at this time. That was under the IE platform; tonight I attempted it once more, under Mozilla Firefox, and it went right through! Everything seems to be functioning normally, but do let me know it you encounter any problems. . .

Okay, FIRST glitch noted. Many of the previously entered comments are showing as annonymous, but only for selected people. I'm guessing these are people who've not switched yet?

I'll keep my eye on it, but if you are unable to comment here, PLEASE E-MAIL ME!

Just testing to see if I'm "annonymous" still. :)

john....
I had problems with blogger when I was trying to do a post on the SOTU and screwed up previous post intertwining with the new one. I tried to correct it and in the process lost my Barney post.

So I ended up having to rebuild from a notepad copy. I lost all my comments on the original because I stupidly deleted the original posting and then found out I couldn't delete my template and put in its place what I had thought was a correct saving of my template.

It seemed that I must have either saved it wrong or blogger wouldn't allow it. I deleted the template and copied the copy I had saved, but I'm not sure if I saved it correctly. So I'm not sure if the problem was on my end or bloggers end.

I have been invited to switch also and have not as I wouldn't like to lose all my previous posts.

Is there really anyway to save a copy of the template and copy it back if there is a problem? If so, how would I go about it? What program should I use and how should it be saved? By that I mean what extension and would it be? Txt, html, unicode, unicode big endan, UTF-8 or what? Should I use a notepad or a text editor like notetab?

Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Now lets see if I can post under my blogger name.

God Bless.

Dave - No problems!

Anon-Par - Same for you. I wish I had some advice for you. I just took a leap of faith and it's been okay so far. . .My gut says to save your template in html format.

I've had the same problem trying to get on with the same explanation. I'll go give it another try. You look super from this end.

You're looking good, baby. Just fine. Now let's see if it lets me post as Old Broad or not. I might change my mind if it switches me to anonymous.

Thanks john. I tried saving a copy of the current one in Notetab. It's a html editing program and I then openned my browser up in off-line mode and loaded the page.

It loaded correctly so now I need to find out if I can delete the current template and restore with the copy.

Unfortuneatly though I didn't have a backup of the barney post template so I lost that totally.

Thanks again, I will see if anyone else has any ideas about it and I'm still not sure if I want too switch or not. I'll probably be one of the last to switch and when I do it will not be of my choosing.

God Bless.

I didn't wanna do it! I was relieved every single time that I clicked it and it told me that I couldn't switch yet. . .then when I tried it under Mozilla, and I finally got the next screen. . .(gulp). .anyway, so far so good.

John, now that you are in BETA, let me know if you can still post at my place. Clammyc had problems at first, but it ended up letting him post. I never swapped the old one, because so many contributors were not on BETA. Now that some have swapped, I might just do it.

John, I don't think it was a Mozilla/IE problem. I attempted to change several times using both to no avail. However, I was able to make the change yesterday with no problems. I think they finally got around to fixing the problem so constant posters like us could join the :new" bandwagon.
