Senator Hagel speaks out

Republican senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska delivers an honest assessment on Iraq and the last several years. Dick Lugar, are you heeding this man's words and actions? Hagel is a Republican with a conscience. . .heed his advice. If not, you may find your electability finally in question here in Indiana. . .

That man makes a lot of good points. I think his points about them needing jobs is really a major issue. If they had jobs to go to each day and some money in there pockets they would have some hope and would be as willing to blow themselves up to get into the promise land.

I hate to think this, let alone say it, but I kind of like Hagel. A no bullshit kind of guy.

That was so refreshing. One part I liked was the idea that all the politicians couch their words in political rhetoric instead of just plain common sense.

He has no conscience and voted against the minimum wage. He's posturing understanding the unpopular folly of the administration is all.

I was hopefull too until I saw that rediculous vote. I hope you caught Kennedy today. He kicked serious ass.

Anon,

I'm not sure I would characterize Hagel as someone w/o a conscience. I don't think you can expect a Republican from Nebraska to fully agree with the Democratic party on every issue. Hell the DEMOCRATIC senator from Nebraska doesn't even do that.

The point is he's giving cover to those on the right who might want to speak out against this president's handling of Iraq. Even if he is grandstanding for a possible '08 presidential run I'll take all the help we can get - especially in the Senate...
