I *definately* believe the election results were either wrong, or tampered with; but nothing can undo the past. I think we should have had another election with closer scrutiny in 2004.

With all of our technology we still don't have a failsafe method of voting!!! That's not right!

Well since people who investigate the new Diebold machines are eventually forced to resign I wouldn't expect any real changes anytime soon.

You can read (and listen to) the story linked below - how can you be fired for making sure the voting system works? Unbelievable...

Jeff - I went to your link, which led me to blackboxvoting.org where I found the item below (I'm from Ft Wayne, Indiana)

Ft. Wayne, Indiana - Microvote machines missing Tinker; the MicroVote machines were missing Vincent L. Tinker's name. Officials said that didn't affect the results, because there were 22 openings and 22 candidates. Tinker’s name appeared on ballots for the older machines, they said. (Citizens: Capture this kind of thing on cell phone photo so you will have proof. Next time it might "matter.")

I read the whole depressing article but what's to say things will change before 08?

Stan,

Doesn't give you a lot of confidence does it? BTW, that story was covered (barely) by the JG here:

http://www.fortwayne.com/mld/journalgazette/14486750.htm

And when you have Diebold's CEO, Wally Odell, saying "I am committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president" before the 2004 election you can't be surprised when the conspiracy theorists start to show up. I know he was talking about his fundraising efforts but he shouldn't be involved in any way...

Jeff - No confidence at all; especially since I am a computer programmer.

Everybody is so worked up about using the internet to vote, but I think that could be done in a manner that would be a hellov a lot more accurate and a hellov a lot more safely; not to mention faster.

It's sad, but there is definately politics involved in the voting process (and ignore the man behind the curtain inside the voting machine).
