Mad Magazine - Bush vs Christ
Robert over at Left of Centrist found this brilliant piece, and I just had to grab it and share it with the rest of you. It's hilarious, yet so true to Karl Rove's real-life work that it will make you gulp.

That's hilarious. And it points out the hypocrisy, and can apply more poignantly to any politician who plays the Jesus card.
I don't think a lot of people understand what a deep effect religion has on society. According to the History Channel 50% of our population believes in some sort of "end-times" scenario. How is that constructive for the idea that we humans can really make the world a better place when there are so many defeatist attitudes deep down?
It's just another hypocrisy.
Agreed. I,too, subscribed to the "end-times" theory as late as 20 years ago. What's the point? LIVE, BREATHE, LAUGH, SHARE, ENJOY, LOVE. Nuff said.
Question for you guys: how do you decide what to believe? Is it a matter of what you think is true ... or what you think is useful, constructive, "has a point," and so on?
I ask for a reason. I'm trying to decide whether to believe I'm going to get old and die one of these days. One answer is the one I think is true; the other will be much better at making me cheerful and motivated.
Bartleby,
Generally it's what I think to be true I guess. I've also noticed that the heart seems to harden with age.
