Ohio Fascists Jail Protester
A "must read" from Robert over at Left of Centrist. . .
Yep, this is what it's been coming down to. DO read the above story and make your own conclusions. Anyone who has researched the rise of the Third Reich and the Nazi Party is absolutely amazed at the parallels between that administration and our current one. It is chilling to realize how much further this all could have gone, and nearly did, if enough people hadn't started paying attention. Game almost over. Remain vigilant, remain undeterred, and never stop informing others.

Actually - click back on that link and read what some of the comments are...and you wonder who would be ok with this kind of stuff? Go meet them, they're right over there.
I would say it's hard to believe, but somehow I believe it.
There are probably a lot of things about this case that are not being said - on both sides, but on the surface it appears that she was treated unfairly more than likely because of her political beliefes and the opposing beliefs within the justice departments.
Some peoples political beliefs can be as zeolous as other peoples relious beliefs. Some feel that if you don't believe what they believe, then you are the different one, and are treated accordingly. It will never change in religion or politics.
I don't think she stood a chance from the get-go. The Police wanted to make a statement in front of the people watching the comotion.
I was once before a Judge regarding child custody and child support. I got custody, but when it came to child support, the Judge said "I don't believe women should have to pay support". While that's not a politically motivated statement, I was surprised to hear a Judge say that out loud in a courtroom full of people. From that moment on, I realized that Judges don't play by the same rules as everybody else.
The moral of the story is that when confronted with the Law - do as your told, only speak when spoken to, and expect to kiss your ass goodbye - and maybe, just maybe you will get lucky and only get a huge fine.
I'd like to see the police report.
Why would this be a surprise?
Jose Padilla, a US citizen, was arrested on US soil and labeled an enemy combatent. He was held for 3 YEARS at a military brig w/o being charged & w/o access to a lawyer or family.
Due to political pressure the administration finally indicted him but NONE of the original allegations for which he was held were part of the indictment.
To top it off the US Supreme Court refused to hear his case after he was indicted so the administration can still (and does) claim that they have the right to do this again.
Forget about the 10+ other scandals, this alone requires an investigation into whether this was/is an impeachable offense...
Jeremy - You're right. Robert suffers from the same "attackers" that I do.
Stan - One is nearly always subject to the whims of the local magistrate and his attenders to.
P.O.P. - Let's see if The Smoking gun picks up on this one!
Jeff - There is no end to the list of impeachable offenses this "president" has committed. How many will it take??
Did a little checking. The Cuyahoga County courts website has a pretty easy search feature (http://cpdocket.cp.cuyahogacounty.us/cjisjs/servlet/cjis.urd/run/cmsw101). She's listed under Carolyn Fisher. As far as the court goes, Robert's entry is pretty accurate. There was a 2-day jury trial and a conviction. She was apparently in a psych clinic from 4/28 to 5/9, when she was jailed. She made bail on 5/11, so she's presumably out right now. One discrepancy noted - there is no May 8 hearing listed in the docket. She's to be sentenced on June 2 at 10AM.
Frightening story if true. Like POP, I'd like to see the police report as well as a transcript of the trial to see what both sides said.
More info. The ordinance she presumably violated was 503.01 POSTING BILLS WITHOUT CONSENT OF OWNER:
No person shall paint, print, paste, stencil or otherwise mark, place upon or affix to a building, fence, wall, vehicle, post, pole, tree, billboard, sidewalk or street or other similar structure, whether public or private, without the consent of the owner, lessee or agent in charge, a word, letter, character, figure, sentence or device or a handbill, notice, advertisement, sign or poster.
503.99 PENALTY.
Whoever violates any provision of this chapter is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. (See Section 501.99 for penalties applicable to any misdemeanor classification.)
501.99 says that the fine is no more than $150. Reference: http://www.conwaygreene.com/clevelandhts.htm.
It's not new that a cop's intervention can turn a minor transgression into a big deal. It's of real concern if the cop did it here because of the subject matter of the posters, or if there's something else we don't know yet.
Uncle Crappy - Thanks for the research, man!
