Thought for the Day

The means by which we live have outdistanced the ends for which we live. Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men. --- Martin Luther King Jr.

Good one John. I was a bit apprehensive on putting a joke on this thread. So I kinda qualified it with the 3rd sentence. I feel better :).

And yes that is a pimple on my chin.
Peace.

LIA (LeftinAboite) Rule #1 - NEVER be afraid to laugh. Humor is always appreciated, derisive remarks about positions are another story. ;)

Adding to Martin Luther King (so Loved) and other famous quotes and my favorite quote, "Everything has a way of working out."

My beloved gramma (1901-1996) EMIGRATED from Sweden & homesteaded for 161 acres in Montana in 1921 for ten years before moving to the Midwest. Her husband delivered blocks of ice to Southwest Michigan households in a truck. When her husband died in the 1940's, she started her own trucking company. The trucking company served the auto, steel mills and like in Mi, Ill and IN well… until; it hit the skids with government interference, deregulation and demised in 1979 (Jimmy Carter... high interest rates, high taxes, no jobs.…. the Oil problem we still have today).

Her famous quote "Everything has a way of working out". I believe!

Bobett,

Our grandmothers were wise women; mine used the same quote!
Thank you for sharing all of the others. They are fine additions to this thread, and the main point that I got out of them is "Enjoy your life. Today.
Tomorrow, and your plans for it, may never come to be."
So often we forget that with our hectic schedules and all. I know *I* do. . .
