GOP Arizona Rep. Rick Renzi, co-chair of Sen. John McCain's campaign in Arizona, has been indicted this morning:

Republican Rep. Rick Renzi has been indicted for extortion, wire fraud, money laundering and other charges related to a land deal in Arizona. A 26-page federal indictment unsealed in Arizona accuses Renzi and two former business partners of conspiring to promote the sale of land that buyers could swap for property owned by the federal government. The sale netted one of Renzi's former partners $4.5 million.Renzi is a three-term member of the House. He announced in August that he would not seek re-election.Today's indictment comes after a lengthy federal investigation into the land developing and insurance businesses owned by Renzi's family. In April 2007, federal agents raided a Sonoita, Arizona business owned by Renzi's wife, Roberta.

Lil Huck Does it Again

Lil Huck, that's "son of a preacher" David Huckabee, was arrested yesterday at the Little Rock airport after a federal X-ray technician detected a loaded Glock pistol in his carry-on luggage. The TSA worker summoned police after viewing the gun on screen. Police found a .40-caliber Glock pistol in his black carry-on bag. Eight live rounds were in the gun — none in the chamber — and a nine-round clip was also in the bag. The weapon and ammunition were detained by Little Rock police while Huckabee's gun permit was seized and given to the Arkansas State Police.

"I removed the bag and asked Mr. Huckabee if he knew what he had in the bag," Little Rock police officer Arthur Nugent wrote in a report after being summoned to a security checkpoint. "He replied he did now."

It would appear that Lil Huck has a short memory - He committed the very same offense , at the very same airport, in April of last year. As reported by The Arkansas Times.

In 1998, then 17 year-old David Huckabee was among two boys fired from a Boy Scout camp after they killed a stray dog that wandered onto camp property. Verified by Snopes.
