Another Republican Hypocrite Pervert

Missouri State Representative Scott Muschany, co-sponsor of a 2007 bill which set guidelines for how teenagers are taught about sex, as well as 2006 legislation that toughened sex offender laws, has been charged with the felony sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl. The victim in the case was the daughter of a state employee that Muschany was romantically involved with. Muschany is a 42 year old married father of two. For now anyway. Does it even get any sicker than that?

The assault rape occurred one day after this year’s Legislative session ended. Two days later, Muschany suddenly announced his intention to not seek re-election saying that he - you know what's coming right? Yep, the standard excuse for these types - "wanted to spend more time with his family". Somehow I don't think that's going to be reciprocated. . .

Robert A. McKee, a 14-year Republican delegate from Western Maryland, resigned yesterday after authorities, who were conducting a child pornography investigation, seized two computers, videotapes and printed materials from his Hagerstown home. McKee, 58, also resigned his position as executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County where he had worked for 29 years. WTF!?

As chair of the Western Maryland delegation, McKee had sponsored bills this year dealing with minors, including the Child Protection From Predators Act and a proposal to collect DNA samples from sexual predators. McKee had sponsored several other sexual offender and child abduction bills in previous years. One must wonder if he was attempting to deflect attention away from his true nature, or using the legislature to find new fodder for his sickness.

"For me, this is deeply embarrassing," McKee said in a statement. "It reflects poorly on my service to the community. In the meantime, I have entered treatment," he added, without providing specifics. "My primary focus is to get well and stay well. I know this can only happen with the support and prayers of my family and friends and the help of professionals.In the long run, I hope and pray that my work in the local community for the last three decades will speak louder than the challenges I now face."

He's following the standard "Busted Republican Pervert Playbook". Apologize. Show shock at own behavior. His next step will be to blame his problems on alcohol or drugs and enter rehab. Then he'll declare that he's been "cured", so that he can quietly return to his perversions, albeit far more carefully.

For decades, McKee has been involved in youth athletics and children's groups, according to his General Assembly biography. He has served in officer positions in two Little League groups and as secretary of a parent and child center advisory committee. He is a former chaplain for the Hagerstown Jaycees and is a trustee and community services chairman at First Christian Church.

I have two words about that last paragraph: BACKGROUND CHECKS! Especially for positions involving youth and/or church - that's where these scumbags typically hide out in plain sight. They think (rightfully so) that these jobs provide cover and place them above suspicion.
