Army Fixing Patients' Housing
UPDATE: Yesterday we brought you the Post story regarding the horrid conditions at some areas of the Walter Reed Army Hospital. It appears the work of reporters Dana Priest and Anne Hull has paid immediate dividends:
Walter Reed Army Medical Center began repairs yesterday on Building 18, a former hotel that is used to house outpatients recuperating from injuries suffered in Iraq and Afghanistan and that has been plagued with mold, leaky plumbing and a broken elevator.
Thank God for investigative journalism. . .making a difference everywhere from inappropriate greeting cards to restoring the dignity of our vets!

It probably didn't hurt that MSNBC ran stories on it all day yesterday.
Robert - That's awesome! Of course I wouldn't know about any of that; I'm not sure how to turn the tv on anymore. . .and, yes, I've tried whispering in it's side speaker. . .
However, the head man denied that there was a problem - I think he's in trouble.
I think it says someplace in there how they started having meetings on it because of the stories in the media. It's pretty sad they never even had a plan to fix any of those problems.
Real reporters can make a HUGE difference.
I'm proud of Dana Priest and Anne Hull.
But mostly I'm proud of us *cough* horrid LIBERAL bloggers who furiously took up this story and ran with it.
There is hope, yes?
Mary - He SHOULD be!
Parson - Thanks for the updates!
Hill - I sleep good at night after those sorta posts! When I feel like I wrote about something that "matters". . .
