NY Times: NO to ALL Republicans!
The New York Times said today that for the first time in memory it would be endorsing no Republican congressional candidates this year. The Times editorial criticized the Republican led Congress on everything from tax cuts to energy policy, and for failing to hold Bush accountable for Iraq.
"This election is indeed about George W. Bush. . . and the congressional majority's insistence on protecting him from the consequences of his mistakes and misdeeds," said the Times editorial staff. "On Tuesday, when this page runs the list of people it has endorsed for election, we will include no Republican congressional candidates for the first time in our memory."
"To begin with, the Republican majority that has run the House of Representatives , and, for the most part, the Senate. . .during President Bush's tenure, has done a terrible job on the basics," the newspaper wrote. "It's tax-cutting-above-all-else has wrecked the budget, hobbled the middle class and endangered the long-term economy. It has refused to face global warming and done pathetically little about the country's dependence on foreign oil," the Times added.

Wow, that's a surprise...
What surprises me is that they are publicly revealing this. It doesn't surprise me that they feel this way.
I read that and couldn't believe the fortune. HA!
Here's wishing the Hoosiers the best of luck tomorrow!
GOTV!!!
Stan, there really isn't much reason for them not to publicly reveal their bias er uh I mean choices.
I grew up in a house where the old gray lady was required reading every Sunday, and while it was always a given they were a tad liberal editorially, I don't recall them being completely one sided until the last few years...
It was always a fascinating read while growing up, but anymore I wouldn't train my puppy with that rag. And judging by circulation numbers I'm not alone either.
Well, Tim - I think it is commendable that the fine publication is willing to stick it's neck out and condemn the policies and crimes of the Bush regime.
I sure do hope that they get to keep their newspaper, and that it is allowed to continue to publish its wholesome, good, fair and accurate reporting - although I'm sure that Rummy and his gang of thugs would like to put them out of business, or take over the management.
That pesky 1st Ammendment really annoys Neocons, doesn't it?
What's annoying is the sanctimonius lefts' blatant disregard for fairness in the name of their party. It's gotta be a heavy burden to bear being correct about everything all the time. Nobodys' first ammendment rights are in jeopardy, as is clearly evident by the press, blogs, and MSM....It's obviously NOT in jeopardy because you can read 24-7 a constant diatribe of half truths and lies about anybody who disagrees with the chardonnay sipping limosine leftwingers who obviously know what's best for everyone all the time.
Chardonnay is okay, but I prefer baby's blood.
By the way, for the benefit of the WOWO listeners out there, that was a joke.
I was responding to the ridiculous tone of the previous comment with and equally ridiculous comment.
Oh Craig, I wouldn't call my tone ridiculous, more like observant. What's the air like way up there looking down on the rest of us?
It's cold
See Tim, that's how you answer questions. Why won't you answer mine?
