Mr. Matuska -- what two "extreme" parties can you be talking about?
Surely you can't be referring to the Donkey and Elephant Caucuses of the War/Corporate Party. A Venn diagram of those two would look like a single purple circle, with a slight hint of a blue fringe on one side, and a slight hint of a red fringe on the other.
"Extreme" parties ... I don't know, maybe you're thinking of the American Nazi Party and the Socialist Workers' Party. Although, on further reflection, I think those would have a fair amount of overlap, too. But at least they're not virtually identical, as are the Pachyderms and the Jackasses.
Bartleby - I think both national parties have tried playing to the middle. Though Bush's gang of crooks have played to and yet against the far right. I don't care how it plays in Des Moines, I'M ready for a REAL liberal to jump into the fray.

Ineresting. I would agree that most Americans are more in the middle than to the extremes...but then why do we support only the two extreme parties?
I would like to see more independant candidates running for office.
