Six months before Republicans try to hold on to control of Congress in the fall elections, a new poll shows President Bush has slid to the lowest approval rating of his presidency, and a majority of voters say they'll vote for Democrats in November.

A USA TODAY/Gallup Poll taken Friday through Sunday found Bush's approval rating at 34%, two points under his previous low. He also received the lowest ratings of his presidency on his handling of the economy, energy and foreign affairs. He tied his previous low on Iraq at 32%.

The poll showed Democrats leading 54%-39% among registered voters who were asked which party they would prefer in a congressional race.

So much for the "Dumb American" theory. Most Americans love our country, and are waking up to the fact that they have been completely duped by this idiot and his handlers, even people who voted for his sorry ass.

White House lapdog Scott McClellan said the president is not focused on polls but "on achieving results for the American people."

Dear GOD! Please spare us from any more of this man's "achievements"!!

A spokesman for the House Republicans' campaign committee, Carl Forti, said unhappiness with Bush doesn't doom the GOP's 29-seat House majority because "President Bush is not on the ballot."

The HELL he isn't! The Republican senators that have finally grown a set (or clearly see the outlook in November) may be safe; the rest are going down with the ship! May it rot in peace.

Forti also noted that the poll showed 59% of respondents said their own representative deserves to be re-elected. However, poll data show that's the lowest percentage since 1994, when Republicans won control of Congress from the Democrats.

Here's your new and updated for 2006 Contract With America: A record budget surplus turned into a record budget deficit, Republicans are NOW the "big government" party due to their waste and poor decisions, a sovereign nation attacked and invaded (Who had NO ties to 9/11), thousands of our kids and untold numbers of innocent Iraqis are dead, the middle class has been decimated in more ways than I have time to list here, our constitutionally guaranteed freedoms have been greatly eroded, big-oil (via their fascist pawns) controls our economy, and MOST people FINALLY FUCKING GET IT! BUH-BYE!

Sarah Feinberg, a spokeswoman for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, said voters are linking Bush's problems to his GOP colleagues: "The American people want change."

All that the American people have left after this madman's regime is CHANGE, they WANT dollars! Hell, they want to be able to fuel their vehicles without that money coming from their grocery budget. They want affordable healthcare. They want a fair wage for a fair day's work. They want their RIGHT to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, NO MATTER WHAT their race, age, sex, sexual affiliation, or social status.

Since 1950, there have been six times when presidents had Gallup approval ratings below 50% in the spring as their party sought to keep control of Congress. The president's party lost House seats in all six years, ranging from five in 1968 to 54 in 1994.

Make that SEVEN. . .chugga chugga chugga

A 15-seat switch in November would give the Democrats a majority in the House. A six-seat switch would give Democrats control of the Senate.

And an impeachment of Chimpy W. Shrub and Deadeye Dick after these mid-term elections would give us: President Nancy Pelosi! All hail their worst nightmare!

The poll comes as the Iraq war and a sharp increase in gasoline prices have contributed to public uneasiness.

Uneasiness?!? We're ready to storm the castle with pitchforks!

Bush has repeatedly said he does not pay attention to opinion polls.

As Stephen Colbert most recently illustrated! Enjoy your slow painful fall from grace, village idiot. And try not to blow up anything in the meantime; we're ALL watching you now, and we won't let you repeat the mistake you executed in Iraq.

If you want a good chuckle check out what Tom Coburn (R-OK) has been doing to hassle the republicans on the hill. He has been singling out all their earmarks on the floor and attaching amendments to remove every one of them. Watching some of these guys defend their earmarks is priceless.

They STILL don't get it. The real conservatives in this country are fed up w/ their spending and they will lose staunch republican voters because of it. Hell even the president, who hasn't vetoed a single bill, is threatening to veto the emergency spending bill because of all the earmarks.

The current crop of republicans are so out of touch w/ their party that they should be embarrassed...

That almost makes a case for grabbing a bag of Funions and turning on some C-SPAN.

I think I may...

Jeff - It's absolutely amazing. Do you think they'll get a clue before November?

John,

There's absolutely nothing they can do from now until then to change the outcome - that ship has sailed. I have a feeling it's going to be a big win for the democrats.

You'll see the usual fear-mongering though - immigration, gay marriage, terrorists, abortion, etc. However, Rove will have gone to the well one too many times...

I have alot of concerns about the "Iran card" being played. I'm pretty sure Bush would do it; I hope there are enough people around him that will prevent it.

If Iran would allow the IAEAEIO to come back in and do their thing, then I would think that would calm the situation. I thought I read somewhere that Iran was considering letting them back in.

Any ideas of the Iranian people supporting America on this endeavor of denying them nuclear capability is nonsense. There are many issues that the US could use to force the people against the clerics but this is most certainly NOT one of them. ALL Iranians support the governments decision to pursue nuclear technology - they also believe they are only doing so for peaceful purposes which is debatable.

The Iran situation is a lose-lose right now for the US. Doing anything to impede nuclear progress will continue to bolster support for the clerics and new president while doing nothing would be a disaster as well. I think this administration is actually exercising its only option - building a unanimous coalition against Iran to force them into some sort of diplomatic solution that is favorable to the West.

Military options being "on the table" is just hot air. The entire population of Shia in Iraq would explode if the US took any military option. Of course, I suppose I wouldn't put anything past this administration...

That pretty much sums up MY concerns as well.
