Chairman Van Hollen Takes on Mike Pence on Meet the Press

On Meet the Press, DCCC Chairman Van Hollen debated Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence on the Recovery Act, heath insurance reform, Democratic accomplishments and Republican obstruction:

Chairman Van Hollen lays out a list of Democratic legislative victories for the American people and calls out Republicans for their obstruction and hypocrisy.

David Gregory calls out Rep. Pence (R-IN) for criticizing the Recovery Act -- which includes the largest and fastest middle-class tax cut in history. Chairman Van Hollen also thanks Rep. Pence for putting their "warmed-over Bush economic policies" on the table -- including a tax cat for the wealthiest Americans.

Biden declares "Surge" a failure

On today's edition of NBC's Meet The Press, Senator Joe Biden announced that he believes the US military surge in Iraq is "a failure."

"The truth of the matter," said Biden, who just returned from Iraq, "is that this administration's policy and the surge are a failure."
