I'm not saying my wife is overly sensitive about putting the seat back down after I piss, but ... well, yes, yes I am saying my wife is sensitive about putting the seat back down.

I've never really understood this particular bugaboo. I never bitch about having to lift the lid and that takes more effort. That argument about never having sat down and landed in the bowl doesn't fly either - the reason that's never happened to me is because I have enough brains to check first.
I think the XX population is just pissed off because they have to sit down for every transaction.

Nothing personal, Sew, but that response is as unacceptable as a production worker who claims there's no time for safety protocols.
Incidentally, there have been times when I felt like there was a freight train rushing through my colon, and I still have never fallen in.
