Speak Out against Daylight Savings Time
For those of you who would prefer to NOT have DST in Indiana, and don't care to move to Hawaii or Arizona, there is a website where you can sign an e-petition to have the issue placed on the November ballot as a referendum (since the issue was never put to a vote in the first place). E-petitions are generally ineffective, especially the ones where you just add your name to a long list and forward it on to everybody. But this is one where you go to a website and give your full name and address.
This "petition" may not be fully effective either, but it's structured in a way that at least it has a chance of being taken seriously. In any case, it can't hurt.Of course, it also never hurts to pressure your elected officials as well, particularly in an election year where "change" looms large on the agenda and eagerness to appease the populace abounds. . .
Go to www.no2inddst.net to sign up. You have until August.
*Thanks to long-time friend Bill Zabel for the heads up on this one.*
