The importance of meaningful access to Congressional information

Why is meaningful access to congressional information important? Congressional information allows people to properly evaluate what their members of Congress are doing and who they are doing it for. Congress works for us and we, therefore, should be able to know everything that has to do with the business of lawmaking. Not having this information is like interviewing someone with a blank resume.
