A.U. students "welcome" Karl Rove
Karl Rove assumed that he was in safe territory on Tuesday Night. The architect of all that we have endured for the last six years was at American University speaking to the school's chapter of the
The students surrounded Rove's vehicle in an attempt to perform a citizen's arrest, for tyranny I can only assume. . .some students laid down in front of his vehicle, while others pelted it with rocks and other projectiles. Here's a very grainy cell-phone video of the event:
The university stated today that "students were given a designated area to protest and they violated that agreement." No charges have been made at this time, against Turd Blossom or the promising young activists.

Rise up!
These kids need to look at old footage from the 60's to get some inspiration. But they done good just the same. They sent a message that I imagine made Karl's pucker string pull tightly. Hey...in the 60's footage...I'll be the one with the really long blonde hair looking dazzling in my hip-hugging bell bottoms. Still have them...the stories they could tell...
That's nice to see, and there needs to be much more of it.
I am thrilled to see the young people standing up and taking a stand. This is more of what we need. If we had a draft, they'd all be out there in strong unified forces. I think the young people are coming to understand that the draft is just inches away now that Bushie has destroyed the military.
can't watch the video from here- something about embedding and not being allowed and all that.
i say- it's about time!!! we have had granny brigades and vietnam folks out there protesting. what has been missing significantly are the young college kids finding their voices and their consciences. maybe this will signal a beginning.
This is SO good to see. About time the younger gang decided to join in and become involved - it's THEIR paychecks that will be ravaged to pay for this debacle!
Oh yes! I'm doing the happy dance here.
The protest must have stunned his pink lard-ass into a quivering mass of week-old Jell-O.
Whooooo Hooooooooo!!!
Nice to see!! I sure hope they got some eggs in!
I somehow doubt that there was an 'agreement' between AU and the students about a protest zone. Protest zones are usually about keeping the people away from their targets and violating their right to assemble, nothing more.
Whaddaya know - Bush really IS a "uniter"! ;)
Kvatch - That's what was implied; they were to stay away from his vehicle and they mobbed it.
