Dem business card backer

This great idea was presented by Big Dog at the Katrinacrat weblog. His suggestion is to use this on the back side of business cards, or as a stand-alone card that can be left behind in diners, taverns, stores, etc. It says volumes for it's size and cost:

This is an AWESOME idea!!! Let me know if you get something ready to print out. I will leave them all over Kansas. Nancy Boyda is in a tight race with wingnut Jim Ryun. I may pass this on to her campaign.

Pam - Please DO pass this on to Nancy, and as many others as you can. Big Dog should have more info on getting these into print; I encourage you to link over to Katrinacrat and ask him!

I just sent nancy's campaign a link to Katrinacrat. There was no way to send an attachment. I hope they check it out!

Of course, as good as each of these ideas were, the opposition still came up with reasons why they were bad ideas. What does that tell you?

Robert - It tells me that they're out of touch with what Americans really want. Oh yeah, and that they don't really give a flying f*ck.

Maybe it should also say something about keeping our country safe and respectable again.

This is an interesting card; however, I think it will have marginal success at best. I think some of the topics are winners for Democrats...

Equal Pay. I think this is a winner for Dems. They do seem to be in favor of raising the minimum wage and they can lay claim to the idea that they are more for equal pay then Reps.

Equal Rights. No. This is something the Dems claim to be for; but, they are against. Anyone in favor of quotas and PREFERRING minorities is against equal rights. The Dems should remove this.

40 Hour Work Week. What does this even mean? In France they went to a 35 hour work week and it has hurt their economy. Does this mean Dems are in favor or removing overtime? This should be removed because it means nothing...

Social Security. The Dems should replace this with "Leaving Social Security the way it has been since the 1920's." This is a TERRIBLE idea; but, The Dems think it is a good idea.

Medicare. Same comment as Social Security. This program has uttlerly failed and the unfunded liability is the largest burden our kids face.

Clean Water. I think this is a good one for the Dems...

Clear Air. Same comments as clean water.

Safe Food. I think both Parties are for Safe Food. Seems silly to have this on the card..

Freedom of Speech. This should be removed. The Dems have recently shown they are against Free Speech... ABC, Disney, ring any bells?

Voting Rights. Maybe.

I do like the "We're Just Getting Warmed Up" quote at the bottom...

Mike - on your disagreements:

Equal Rights - We're not for quotas or minority preference. Those did have a place and time. We're against exclusion based on color, creed, religion or sexual prefernce.

40 hour work week - Again, this was an issue that we championed in the past. When it was common for even children to work 12 hours days with no overtime compensation. This battle was one by Dems long ago. Merely making the point.

Social Security - IS solvent. I suggest that you view the video posted before this entry. It gives a damn clear explanation of the opposing views.

Medicare - See above.

Safe Food - You are incorrect on this one. I would have to do some digging that I have no time for this evening, but Republicans have eased restrictions on additives and run-off into drinking water that favor business but jeopardize public health.

Freedom of Speech - ABC/Disney was not about freedom of speech. It was about preventing falsehoods from being presented as a factual documentary. ABC DID change their language on that. We beleive in free speech, but not in presenting "dramatic interpretation" as FACT.

I appreciate you honestly debating me on this and my chance to answer you in a civil manner. An "annonymous" reader posted a comment earlier about Dan Turkette doing a post on his "blog" about this post. Frankly, I don't spend much time thinking about his take on things.

I change my mindset when presented with undisputable facts that disagree with my current position. That makes me a "flip-flopper" to the Turkette's of our world.

Turkette will defend his position blindly, no matter what the facts of the matter are. I'll let you decide what that describes him as. . .I really have no further interest in him.

Oh and, annonymous trolls, post whatever you wish about me wherever you want. I couldn't possibly care any less.

Gee.......

I'd love to see what Johnnie deleted. He must not be in tune with his good friend Robert Rouse when it comes to comment moderation. Robert doesn't delete anything according to Robert.

Considering they author fortwayneleft.blogsport.com jointly one has to wonder if there's parity between the authors.

I think not.

Finally decided to post as yourself, eh? Good. This one stays. Comment all you want, but don't hide behind "annonymous". . .

Actually, I have deleted comments in the past. For example, people who use posts to put links to weight loss drugs, sex sites, etc. I also delete posts that contain a lot of profanity, posts that promote sex with children, posts that are blatantly racist, etc. I do have my limits. However, if it is political dissent, it stays, whether I agree with it or not. I believe in freedom of speech. I do not believe in freedom to slander, or promote bald-faced lies. If I had been ABC/Disney, I would have deleted "The Path to 9/11".

John Good:

Equal Rights - Yes you are for Minority rights and quotas. Or are you saying the The Dems are going to remove those quotas that are ALREADY in place? The Dems support quotas today and quotas are WRONG... You know that John... This should be removed.

40 hour work week - Thanks for the clarification. I think you are saying that HOURLY workers are entitled to overtime after 40 hours. This is NOT something the Dems should be proud of today. More and more employees are considered contractors and DO NOT get paid overtime. I would remove it.

Social Security - Social Security is NOT solvent John. Please. Do I need to get Bill Larson to come over here and educate you? You KNOW it is not solvent John... This should be removed.

Medicare - This is far more unsolvent then Social Security. Go and read the recent post over on Reverent and Free. Reverent and Free realizes Medicare is a serious threat to future generations. This is the largest unfunded liability in THE WORLD. This should be removed.

Safe Food - I would be interested in hearing more about this one.

Freedom of Speech - I no longer think either Dems or Reps are in favor of Free Speech. We will just have to not talk about Disney...

I also ALWAYS sign my posts... I never hide from my views; even when they are unpopular...
