America - Freedom to Fascism New Trailer

16 minute trailer to share with everyone you know.
America Freedom to Fascism will open as a mainstream theatrical release on July 28.
We need to pack the theatres where it shows with lines around the block.
The power they understand is the Power of BoxOffice.

Your comments after viewing this trailer will be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure what to make of the whole thing, and look forward to hearing your perspective.

Powerful. I've already posted this up on my blog. Its also cross-posted at Ass Kickers In Exile and at Night Bird's Fountain. I credited your blog with a link here. I intend to get a sidebar link up to you as well. Thanks!

Hi Glenda!

This was the one of the worst ineffectual propaganda pieces I've ever seen - as well as 15 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

The crap about our fiat money system showed a complete lack of basic knowledge concerning economics.

President Clinton's Echelon program was blatantly distorted.

And the quote about president Bush saying the Constitution is "just a goddamned piece of paper" was retracted by the authors because they could only "corroborate" the story through second and thirdhand accounts.

And the tax law part? These zero tax people drive me nuts - that's all I'm going to say about that.

Did they hire an ex-Al Jazeera reporter to edit this?

Glenda - Amen re the IRS. . .

Chuck - Thanks, man. I've added both of those blogs to my blogroll here at LIA.

Jeff - Thank you for your view on this.

No, no, no ... that wasn't sixteen minutes. It was only 14:49.

I hesitated to invest the time myself. But -- with all due respect to Jeff -- after reading his comment, I was pretty sure it would be good. And it was.

You know, when anyone questions the legality of the Fed income tax, and the legitimacy of fiat currencies, he or she runs all the social risks that accompany association with the aluminum foil helmet. And it may be that some of what the trailer, at least, suggested may not be on solid ground. But I am profoundly grateful for anything that has any potential of getting my fellow subjects even a little bit skeptical of "our" government, and of the "smelly little orthodoxies" (to borrow Orwell's phrase) that are fed to us in what passes for journalism today. Skepticism often leads to critical thinking. Even a little critical thinking is a very fine thing, and if Mr. Russo's film is indeed released in the area (as seems terribly unlikely), I'll certainly pony up for a ticket. (And as long as Cinema Center's in operation, I figure there's at least a chance.)

Thanks, John ... I'll go join the crowd and post a link.

Oddly enough, I know a group of young people who will be sponsoring films at said theatre this late summer and fall. I will have to remember to mention this one to them.

Uh-oh. That link isn't going to work properly in this pop up.

Skepticism is good of course. However, this doesn't even add to the discourse. This propaganda only serves to distract people from issues that really should be addressed about our government and this administration in particular...

Well I tried to watch it. You Tube and Google Video won't play properly for me. Sucks because both are getting more pop everyday.

I got to the "It's a private Bank part and then it started to screw up.

So just to comment on what I saw - It is correct that the Income Tax we pay from our pay check is uncontituitional. The second citizen summed it up (paraphrasing his vernacular) - "That there guy with the gun and the badge is the Law."

If this film focuses on this isasue it is a loser. By that I mean, from the title one is expecting evidence of "Fascism". For people to understand exactly the threat that these Fascisits pose a better way is to put the evidence out that they just don't have our interests at heart. That all the votes are not counted and exposing the deep Corporate corruption of the Government. The film may do this later on, but it does not feel like it will. My general feeling is that this is put up by a Libertarian Group.
If this film starts to make noise then I'll check "We The People" group out.

Taxes are necessary. Always have been, always will be. I think we would better use our time seeing that the government officials we elect use the money wisely to do things we cannot do by ourselves - for the common good. Or, we could follow the Bush philosophy and borrow, borrow, borrow.
OTOH - we are using too much of this money to kill people, destroy property, separate families - maybe a great way to lower taxes would be to stop foolish wars.
