Nothing to do w/ the quote but I thought I would mention that tomorrow is a HUGE day for the Democratic party's hopes for taking back the congress. The special election in California's 50th Congressional district will take place in order to replace the seat left vacant by convicted felon Duke Cunningham.
Basically this seat is in one of the most conservative districts in the state - written off by many democrats until the Cunningham fiasco. In 2004 Busby only got 36% of the vote but now the most recent polls show the race in a dead-heat.
GOP candidate Bilbray was dealt a major blow when John McCain cancelled his visit due to Bilbray's constant characterization of his bill as "amnesty".
The Republican party has spent nearly $5 Million to avoid what would be an extremely embarrassing defeat.
This really is a can't lose for the democrats since this district has been solid red for a while. However, a win would be icing on the cake and the press would jump all over the GOP as they never miss a chance to kick a dead horse...
This IS huge, Jeff. I'm anxiously awaiting the results on this one.
