MI and FL recieve half-delegate status from RBC
As was widely expected, the DNC's Rules and Bylaws Committee today agreed to seat half of Michigan and Florida's delegates. Their decision raises the magic number needed for the nomination to 2118, which Senator Obama is likely to meet by Tuesday evening. The fight for the 2008 Democratic nomination for president is now effectively over.
Make no mistake about it. The decision rendered today by the Democratic National Committee's rules panel showed that Barack Obama has displaced Hillary Rodham Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, as boss of the party.

Obama is now the "Boss of the Party" but like in the mobs of the past, the old "Bosses" won't give up power easily.
I don't think its so much that Obama is now da boss, I think its that the Rules Committee wanted to bring an end to this madness and get on with the job of beating down the Rethugs.
Larry - I don't think the Cli. . err, "they" have much choice. . ;)
Dusty - In the sense that he'll now be the face of the party, and in that he shares(d) Dean's winning 50-state strategy, he actually is.
