It's the war, stupid. . .
The battle between Democrats and Republicans for independent voters is fierce this political season, with midterm elections only two weeks away. Unaffiliated voters will play a "pivotal" role on this Election Day, according to the Washington Post, because party loyalties on both sides are particularly strong this year.
Polls show the GOP definitively losing the fight for the independent vote, with independents supporting Democrats by a 2 to 1 margin. These voters are primarily opposed to Republican leadership because of dissatisfaction with the war in Iraq: only one-third of independents say the war is worth fighting, and many cite the war as the most important issue in the elections. Independents reflect a significant national trend: many Americans believe Iraq to be the preeminent issue, and most are not happy with the course of the conflict.

Ayep! I was also thinking about '08. No way can the Bush Regime politically afford to have the War still going.
Unless they stage another False Flag attack like 911.
Peace.
What does "another False Flag attack like 911" mean?
I have no idea what you are talking about.
Mike Sylvester
yes i happen to agree with this analysis...as an independent myself...i prefer to vote libertarian or democratic..
I think the comment by human means the political use of 9-11...that they will need stage one (a 9-11) this time since the real 9-11 is losing its political viability and is becoming a liability.
(I really haven't a clue as to what human meant by that either.)
Mike - I firmly believe the Bush Regime Aided and Abetted 911. That is what I mean.As it is not my intention to hijack a post I'll leave it at that here. You can check my thoughts on it at the multiple postings of the subject in Sept. at my place if you want.
to all -
The main theme being, the only thing they have to sell is Fear. And if there is not a viable(propaganda wise)threat, they will make one. Either by rhetoric(JFK's false claim of USSR's near Nuclear Parity during his Presidential campaign is one example) or by creating the threat. It has been done for Centuries. With the polls not going their way.....
What they cannot do, is afford for us to keep talking to each other. It is my firm belief that without the internets the polls would be much higher for the Bush Regime. I for one would not have networked with so many people and became better educated on the true reality of the World. I would not have donated so much to people and causes, for I would have not known about them. How much would all of us known and done without this here thingie?
Which goes into the title of the post. I think we have driven some stories to the forefront of MSM. Which effects the catatonic brains of people who rely on the MSM for their info. So, while, yes it's the War, without the internets, I don't think the American Politic would have reached this point so fast. Without the true carnage and facts being depicted on TV, we bloggers have taken up the slack.
Which means - Keep beating 'em up with the blogger bat and keep getting to know thy enemy.
Or as some groups say - "Keep Coming Back, It Works".
Peace.
Human - A couldn't agree more. Some people think that blogs don't matter. Do I have some lofty view that what I do here affects anything? Nope. But all of us uniting as one great voice DOES have an impact.
At the very least, it reaffirms our individual thoughs, views, and passions by sharing them with each other. Especially if you are in a red state like I am. Now, when I'm yelling at the TV, I know I'm not alone! I can click over to y'all and share my disgust!
Hey John...Just cruisin' through to check things out and spotted another credibility builder for you guys "Human said...
Mike - I firmly believe the Bush Regime Aided and Abetted 911. That is what I mean."
Time to put the tinfoil hats on, eh?
Tim - Considering everything else these people have done, nothing would surprise me much anymore. And that's pretty sad. .
